A Big Thank You! To all who showed up for the Taste of WWW, we thank you for your participation. We will be reviewing some of the wines poured on this issue of the Albertson's Liquors newsletter. We also have posted all the beverages on this web page.

=> Remember, buy any six or more, mix or match and save 10%. This includes all boxed wine, 1.5L wines, all 750ml and 1.75L liquor, and 750ml wine.*
*(Excludes beer, BOGO wines, and 187ml wines.)

Da Vinci 2008 Pinot Grigio, Italy (#64 at WWW)
This white has a lovely macadamia nut nose with creamy aromas. In the mouth the wine is zippy and refreshing, with flavors of lime, lemon, and peach. It has a lighter body with a floral finish.

Two Rivers 2008 Riesling, Colorado (#11 at WWW)
This is a very tasty Colorado product, vintage after vintage. A beautiful nose offers aromas of baked peach pie and honeysuckles. Viscous in the mouth, yet lively and refreshing with ample acidity. The wine shows off flavors of apricot, tangerine, lime zest, and Good And Plenty candies. Long, lingering finish with a slight touch of residual sugar. A must with hot, spicy food.

Mendocino Vineyard 2009 Organic Chardonnay, Mendocino, California (#47 at WWW)
We were impressed with the smooth, yet bright profile of this liquid gem. Flavors of apricot, anise, poached pear, and orange peel fill the mouth. The wine has a rich honey tone on its lingering finish. Delightful and elegant, with all the monikers of a $25 chardonnay, at half the price.

Freixenet NV Cordon Negro, Cava, Spain (#56 at WWW)
This has been one of our reliable favorites for its value and quality. A lovely golden color and tiny bubbles that cling to the glass, lead to zesty carbonation. Flavors of apples, lemon zest, and honeycomb fill the spaces between the bubbles. Its ornate packaging makes it worth having on hand. Makes a great hostess gift.

Glory Days 2008 Chardonnay, California (#118 at WWW)
This chardonnay is very undervalued for the money. Floral aromas lead to flavors of macadamia nuts and cream on the palate. The mid-palate evolves with yellow apples, pears, and orange peel. A smooth character and lithe acidity makes for a very polished white.

Crios 2009 Rose of Malbec, Argentina (#162 at WWW)
This refreshing rose has the slightest touch of tannins, giving it a touch of grip. It has a light body, with splashes of spice, over its savory cranberry and strawberry flavors. The finish shows touches of citrus zest, lime and tangerine.

Il Bastardo 2008 Sangiovese, Toscano, Italy (#2 at WWW)
We get a kick out of this label, but consistently, this is a very good bottle of sangiovese vintage after vintage. Aromas of blueberries and white flowers waft from the glass. In the mouth the wine offers tastes of red raspberries, tobacco, cedar, and minerals. A touch of grip marries with a hint of earthiness. It has a healthy dollop of acidity that carries the spicy character forward on the finish.

Hedges 2008 CMS Red, Washington (#15 at WWW)
This is a lighter bodied red, yet it is packed with complexity making it an interesting blend. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and syrah. Lime leaves, lavender, red raspberries, and milk chocolate weave an elegant profile. Fine tannins show a touch of white pepper. For those who don't need a big, fruity wine, this fine beauty packs layers of flavor with a lithe character.

Louis Martini 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma, California (#65 at WWW)
This is a smooth cabernet sauvignon with a polished character. Flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla, black cherries, and cassis overlap, creating a ripe canvas. The tannins are soft and fine, marrying with the fruit driven acidity. Oak influences show on the finish offering a touch of caramel.

The move took us several weeks, but we finally have settled into our new location, inside the Albertsons, on the northeast corner of University Boulevard and Dry Creek Road. Since we did not have to allow for cash registers, bathrooms, and shopping carts in our new space, we have packed an impressive selection into this smaller area. We have made plenty of room for our Buy One Get One Free program and our 3 Fers items. These popular promotions will be the backbone of our sales.

Albertsons Liquors does not guarantee availability or pricing on items.   All items are available on a first come first serve basis.   You must be 21 years of age to shop at Albertsons Liquors.   These prices are valid for the week stated.
